Honoring a Legacy: The Impact of Florentino “Tinoy” Pascual Ruiz through FPRMFI
By: Bernadette Dela Cruz
Every community has its heroes—ordinary people who do extraordinary things simply by caring for others. Florentino “Tinoy” Pascual Ruiz was one of those people. He lived a life rooted in kindness, humility, and service, leaving behind more than memories—he left behind a way of life worth following.
To keep his spirit alive, his family established the Florentino Pascual Ruiz Memorial Foundation Inc. (FPRMFI) in 2003. The Foundation stands as a living tribute to Tinoy’s ideals, carrying his torch forward through programs that serve, uplift, and inspire.
Remembering Florentino “Tinoy” Pascual Ruiz
“Tinoy” grew up in a humble community, yet his heart carried a vision much larger than himself. He believed that compassion and education were the keys to breaking the cycle of poverty.
He was the kind of man who always found ways to help—whether it was guiding a student, offering comfort to someone in need, or quietly supporting community efforts. His integrity and generosity left a mark on everyone who knew him.
When Tinoy passed away in 1999, the loss was deeply felt. But instead of letting his legacy fade, his family chose to honor him in the most meaningful way possible: by continuing his mission of service.
From Memory to Mission
In 2003, Tinoy’s son, Annelouiz “Nelz” Calvario Ruiz, founded the Florentino Pascual Ruiz Memorial Foundation Inc. and named it after his father. For Nelz, this was not just about remembrance—it was about action. It was about turning grief into purpose and ensuring his father’s values continued to live on.
“Rooted in love for community and family, the Foundation seeks to turn memory into mission.” Today, FPRMFI bridges hope and opportunity—especially for those who need it most—through programs that reflect Tinoy’s lifelong dedication to service.
